(and help avoid common pitfalls for better outcomes)

Bring the Expertise you need without Long Term Commitments

As an experienced Technical SEO expert, I specialize in helping teams and clients to navigate today’s technical digital marketing space. My approach blends deep technical knowledge and the challenges of working closely with other departments to achieve KPI’s and goals. While I specialize on the technical side, I also do straight SEO consultation.

With decades of experience in the technical world from a Network Engineer at Level 3 Communications to a Web Developer at G5 Search Marketing to a Technical SEO Program Manager at Google, I help businesses like yours stay ahead of the competition by improving key factors such as page speed, user experience, security vulnerabilities, signals in HTML code/DOM, and web server responses. My services are designed to make your website not only user-friendly but also optimized for search engines like Google, Bing, and Perplexity, ensuring that your site can compete well against your competition.

I have worked with large (Under Armor) and small clients (New Brew Media) both in-house (Google) and with SEO agencies (1-800 Flowers, Anthropologies, Sears, Wal-Mart). I am lucky to live in beautiful Bend, OR which is home to some of the best SEO’s in the world. I have a lot of Bend SEO experts that I can draw on for questions and examples. We get together on a Thursday every month for beers at local breweries!

Site Performance: Improving website speed, user experience, and Core Web Vitals can directly affect your rankings and conversion rates. When you are looking for a leg-up against your competition, this is an investment that can pay off in the medium and long-term.

When I was an in-house SEO program manager, one area of information I always felt like I lacked was HOW my site was actually performing, either from a “today” standpoint as well as historical. How do I get historical crawl data and changes? What can I do to monitor the performance of my website? Sometimes the solution isn’t costly…but scale can cost sometimes.

Semantic Relevance & Natural Language Processing (NLP): Modern search engines are onboarding LLM’s as a facet of their search engine and result page. NLP is generally task-specific and need significant programming to adapt to different language tasks. LLMs, on the other hand, are more versatile and can switch between various tasks such as translation, summarization, and question-answering with minimal fine-tuning.

I am fairly adaptable at creating NLP programs at scale and can work with clients and teams to custom design their own examinations and fleshed-out ideas of automation. What would you create if you had a good resource to create proofs of concept or full-fledged tools to help with your SEO program?

AI is Here: AI is going to be a focal point in how search engines index and rank your pages moving forward in 2025. It’s not that the game has changed so much as how we examine our content will be. AI, or LLM’s (Large Language Models), don’t have understanding of any individual word. They turn words into tokens (numbers) and arrange the tokens in the order of the sentence (a vector). Since this is how LLM’s work, you need to think in the same manner for evaluating the planning and success of your content for the topics and queries.

This also means this is the dawn of the age of the AI search engine, like Perplexity. For this new subset of search engines, they rely almost entirely on NLP and LLM’s for their foundation.

Structured Data & Content: Understanding how knowledge graphs work is essential in today’s SEO, which means you need to understand how to marry your content to structured data, information architecture, qualify for Rich Results in Search Engine Result Pages, and take control of your Knowledge Card.

By keeping up with the latest search engine advancements, algorithm changes, and SEO best practices, I ensure that your website and SEO programs remains competitive and continuously improves its competitive status to all competitors.
